We all four have breakfast then head out on a walk.

Heidi the cow….right next door.

I couldn’t get my selfie stick to work…so the old manual trick

Now we have to head back to the hotel
And their ride appears to take them to the airport
So sad to see them go
Jim and I immediately set out again. He had seen some bronze pieces of art he wanted to look at…we basically retraced our entire steps back to the lake we had just walked to with Jay and Carrie and we finally found the place. We went in and started talking to the art store manager. Turns out his experience, education and background is all in hotel management and hospitality. I tell him we are headed next to Lucerne then to Geneva. He said Lucerne and the hotel I chose were lovely, but Geneva has nothing but a large fountain and diverse tourist population…it has no character. We sit at his computer to do a little research and I have now mapped out an entirely new ending to our trip. Next stop the train station to put our new plan into action
But on the way we stop

An affogato and shakerato
New plan
We will leave Lucerne after 2 days and head out on a train for Interlocken. In Interlocken, we change trains and board a panoramic top scenic train for Montreux. My art gallery/tour guide friend claims it is incredible and then shows me the hotel to stay in Montreux. It is a Fairmont property now and looks beautiful. Our new plan is one night there and one night in Lausanne before we head back to Zurich. Montreux and Lausanne are really only 1/2 hour apart and the Fairmont looks beautiful, so we will spend both nights there and skip the hassle of packing up to travel to Lausanne 30 minutes away.
We return to our hotel to finish selecting our seats on the scenic train we have booked – only to find there are only 2 seats left – 1 seat in car 10 and 1 seat in car 20 – so we will enjoy the scenery independently. Jim then does some more research on Geneva and determines we won’t miss anything significant there, and we are gaining more with our new itinerary.
I then book a hotel for our last night in Zurich at the Schwartzenhof. It is directly across the street from the train station- and still only 15 minute taxi ride to the airport on Monday the 18th.
Time to start thinking about eating.
We come across a Pinsa restaurant. Jordan introduced us to pinsa in San Francisco, it is not pizza dough but a very special dough that is light and airy and crispy.
Mozzarella topped pinsa and a green salad. Perfect dinner.
And we call it a night….heading to Lucerne tomorrow.
