Italy Day 3

And the vacation really starts!

We take a hotel shuttle back to the port in the morning. As we take our time walking thru town and leisurely shopping, we are headed to our ultimate destination of the Aragon Castle of Ischia. But there are stops along the way.

Oh yeah, this was definitely a fish shop…you could smell it a block away.

We didn’t even try to tackle this pile.

Then our driver Michaele picked us up

Back to the hotel for massages (the most all-encompassing massage I have ever had…and that’s all I will say), then some relaxation in the thermal baths and finally a dinner at a Michelin starred restaurant Le Acque.

We started with a water menu, followed by bread and 4 kinds of butter.

This was a “gift” from the chef – yellow fin tuna.

Jim and Carrie moved theirs around the plate a little.

The rest of the dishes I can’t even begin to describe. There are so many ingredients in each dish – the descriptions each took 5 minutes to detail.

This was pasta stuffed with pork, beef and veal.

This was Jay’s risotto – you will see the theme of the Italian flag colors in most dishes.

This was my lobster over purple potatoes – the small round white circles look like pearl onions, but were actually potatoes.

And so 4 hours after our dinner began, we were finally finished! Quite a display.

We are off in the morning to Amalfi.
