Well today starts off on a low note for me – my Apple Watch died. But not before it almost burned my wrist. It occasionally works, but only for the first 10 minutes after it’s charged. But we end today on an incredibly high note.
We start the day with an incredible breakfast spread.
Then the girls head out shopping.
We stop at Fauno Bar for a espresso shakerato. Kristy and MacKenzie raved about them when they were here in May and they didn’t disappoint.
We return with more stuff than we can get in our luggage, but Carrie assured me there is always a way. She has offered up Jay’s backpack as an answer for all of our stuff….but no backpack will ever be big enough to hold what we bought. This ought to be interesting.
Now it’s time for the pool again before we have to hit the spa for massages.
That’s not an earring on Carrie’s ear – it’s just perfect placement of the drain in the photo!
And now for our massages. The masseuse in very broken English describes an eye treatment I need – to accompany my massage. She puts all kinds of tingly creams around my eyes and all I can think of is the time Coral told our mom her eyes were swollen. Mom recommended she soak tea bags and place them on her eyes. Coral went to her cupboard and used the only tea she had – Red Zinger tea. Her eyes did not get better. Fortunately my treatment turned out better.
Time to get ready for the big event tonight. It’s the Charity Dinner for Make-a-Wish. This is what brought us here,
They won’t allow irons in the room, so Carrie has Jay’s shirt pressed. This is how it is brought back.
And we head to the dinner.
They have transformed the pool area into a beautiful oasis.
After cocktails and appetizers – we were full, but dinner had yet to be served.
Pasta with muscles followed by a special catch wrapped in paper – which they would only describe as white fish. Lucky for me I like fish.
And we ended the evening with a DJ and dancing. Well after midnight Jim and I left Jay and Carrie still partying while the DJ played “Oh What A Night”. And that it was.
