We start our morning with 6:30 tai chi. Two tours today…and the first involves food so you know we will go.
Through some of the “markets”.
This is my favorite picture that Jim captured…I think it could be framed
And now on to find out how many things you can do with rice – you can use the rice hulls for fuel, pop the rice by cooking it in a large wok in burned sand, cook tapioca pieces in some gooey stuff made with rice, then rice candies, rice paper, rice crackers with sesame seeds and finally rice wine.
Rice popcorn!
Good enough for seconds or thirds
Making rice paper
And rice candy
And finally wine. The initial batch through is 70 proof!
And back to the ship..afternoon tour was a small village that had no commercialization. We pass by many fish farms on the way.
Ian met a friend who followed him everywhere.
We passed by a small offering in a field – placed there for good luck.
many of the village people were making mats or baskets.
Turn around and Ian has found a popsicle again.
And finally we walk by a store that delivers beer. This is the delivery vehicle – notice the flat area on the back for a case of beer,
and finally 3 bowls of cream of broccoli soup for dinner
