Long Day - not many highlights

But let’s start with the sunrise Mike caught from his place.

We meet up with Elena and Mike and take the high speed ferry to Gozo. Gozo is part of the republic of Malta - but separate from the island of Malta.

To put it in perspective- look at the bottom of this map. Gozo is the little orange dot that sits atop of Malta on the map. Immediately above Gozo is Sicily.

The high speed ferry takes 45 minutes and isn’t a bad ride. We get to Gozo the same time as the rain!

Scenes from the dock.

We take an Uber type trip (it’s called Bolt over here) up to the citadel. But by now it is raining pretty hard.

Yep- not much to show up here. Elena and I stayed under the eaves, while the guys ventured out.

We head down the hill for lunch.

It rains all thru lunch so after lunch we go next door and buy ponchos.

So now we are somewhat covered and we take a Bolt to the next stop, Ggantija temples. A UNESCO heritage site that is older than the Pyramids and Stonehenge. Without a guide or information, it makes it hard to understand what I’m looking at, but they were interesting ruins…..and we weren’t getting wet.

We head back to Valetta and take another night walk thru town.
