No rain today! In fact it is really warm, bordering on hot. We should have spent the day at the pool, but we still have a lot to see. We head down to the ferry dock and take a 15 minute ferry ride to Sliema.
It always surprises me to see hanging laundry out in the public. But the one on the right took the prize - all red bras (well one purple). And this was on one of the streets.
Once in Sliema, we walked one way on the waterfront promenade and came across a bar right on the water. Complete with a pool. You would certainly have to think thru your wardrobe before going for a drink.
We head back on the ferry to the hotel to cool off.
Our friends Mike and Elena arrive in the afternoon. Mike and I worked at TAARCOM together and we went to their wedding in Romania 10 years ago. They rented an apartment across Valetta on the water. It is across town, a whole 7 minute walk from our hotel - their view is amazing.
They are in transit from Romania to Spain and veered off their course to join us in Malta. It is so great to see them!
We head out for dinner to a restaurant that is housed in a museum.
Mike and Elena treated us to an amazing dinner. Sorry no pictures, guess I was too busy eating. Jim had risotto, Elena had a gluten free pasta, and Mike and I had lobster filled ravioli. So delicious!
We all walk back to the Phoenicia and call it a night.
I see pink, red, orange, and blue bras. Must be like the blue dress/ gold dress thing.
Please give our best to Mike and Elena!
